Yes, it's Pink!

I've been wanting to do this for quite a while, but finally got the time to do it. Paint my outdoor setting. I bought it about a year ago, but it's been bashed around a fair bit outside, and started to look pretty dodgy. Inspired by Nicole at Making It Lovely, I took the plunge and painted it.

Here's the dreadful before so you can see what I was working with!

I decided to use Wattyl Solagard to paint it, they have a fair few colours, but I chose Fig Sweet.

And here you go! Yes, it's prety bright. I think I'm happy with it, but I'm happy to incorporate some charcoal into my garden to kind of tone it down a bit.

 

Ugly Fence

This is my back fence.... yuk hey?

One day, the camellias along the back will grow enough to be a beautiful screen, but unfortunately this fence goes all the way around. One option is to paint it, but in summer it got so hot that the poor little plants burned to death. So, this leads me to think that paint will be useless and I'm looking at some kind of screen options.

Side point - just how gorgeous is this backyard?? But, the bamboo screening is one option I'm thinking of. Has anyone used it?

Then there's also this nature reed, I think it's a bit cheaper.

Or I guess, I could just plant hedges around the whole backyard and patiently wait for them to grow. Ah, NO!

Sitting In The Sunshine

It is a beautiful autumn day here in Sydney today, perhaps a little windy but the sun is shining, butterflies are flitting around and it's just one of those days where you can waste it all just sitting out in the garden reading a good book.

This is my outdoor area, I bought this little table and chairs about six months ago. Unfortunately I don't have a covered area so my little table and chairs are out in the elements. We had an incredibly hot summer and so that combined with rain, the wood is really suffering.

I think I've now come up with a solution! I saw Nicole's gorgeous new porch, and table setting she created for the BHG 48-Hour challenge and I think I'm now convinced they should be painted in a beautiful little colour. What started out as a fairly normal setting is just amazing!

What do you think? And the biggest question, what colour will I paint it?!I'm leaning towards pink... or maybe the pretty green.
