I am such a fan of hand lettering. While I have really neat handwriting, calligraphy is one of those thing I've not been able to master, So my appreciation is huge for those who are overflowing with talent in this area. Here's a few of my favourites from my Pinterest boards.

Sydney Finders Keepers Market

I was fortunate enough to get to go to the Finders Keepers markets on Friday night, held only twice a year in The Carriageworks, in Sydney's Eveleigh. This two day event is truly food for the soul.

I didn't go too crazy, this is my small stash of shopping. Fortunately most stalls are cash only which helps reign it in. :)

Christmas tags by Maya Muse Textiles. They also have divine screen printed fabric wares.

My love of letterpress runs deep. These letterpressed bookmarks and card, as well as the card below are both from Bespoke Letterpress Boutique. I stayed at their stall for a long time, there was just way too many beautiful card, tags, envelopes and other eye candy.

If you're in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane do try and make it along. They really are just amazing.

Picture Gallery Wall

I have so many things to share with you all that I did to my home on my little blogging hiatus. One of my most favourite is this picture wall I put up in my lounge room.

This was about 12 months worth of hunting down and collecting exactly the right pictures. Without even noticing, I really stayed with the pastel pinks and aquas, and somehow it came together.

Normally I like things very symmetrical (it's the accountant in me) but for this I wanted it to kind of just get slapped up on the wall in a random display so I could keep adding to it, which I have. It also makes it easier to not be too precious that everything is lined up!

I love every single one of these pictures all for different reasons. I think this is one of my favourite places in the house.

My Book Wishlist

After seeing some of Rose's decorating books on her brand new Able Mae blog, I remembered I have a little design and decorating book wish list of my own. I'll share them with you, and maybe if you have any of them you can let me know what you think of it.

Style by Thom Filicia. This is top of my wish list and I'm still wishing this guy wasn't gay. He was my favourite on Queer Eye, I just sat there wishing he would come to my house and we could decorate together.

Home Rules by Nate Berkus. Another one that's a bit too cute for his own good. I only wish I could watch more of Oprah when hes on, I love his style!

The Nest Home Design, I always feel like they have lovely ideas.

Downtown Chic by Bob Novogratz. I know nothing about this one, but it's intriguing me!

Made By Girl's Office Makeover

You've probably already seen Jen from Made By Girl's office makeover, but just in case, here you go. Isn't it just a beautiful room? Makes me think about moving mine around, so I'm more comfortable and looking at something nice.

French Flea Markets

Oh my! Doesn't the cover of this book make you just want to ring your travel agent and get on a plane to France? One day I will definitely get there, but in the mean time I will just live vicariously through others.

Feature Walls...In Or Out?

Happy Monday!! How was your weekend? Mine was so lovely, I tried to relax and make the most of some time off. Didn't even pick up a paintbrush even though the kitchen looks like a disaster zone.

I know I'm in the middle of one project, but I always keep thinking of the next thing I want to do. I'm telling you, it's a disease. Next on the list, before I get the art wall done in the lounge room, is perhaps painting that wall a slightly different colour. Currently, it is technically a 'feature wall' but when I first painted it, the actual paint colour was only marginally darker than the rest of the house. Oops. I swear it was darker in the sample pot!!

I'm not sure what colour I want to paint it, although I don't really want it to be much darker than the rest of the walls. Just a slight feature, perhaps using a metallic or pearlescent paint. I guess the bonus is that it's cheap and easily fixed if it's a disaster.

Wow, I certainly can ramble can't I? The question I want to ask is, 'Do you think feature walls have come and gone?' Are they a thing of last decade and before? I personally don't think they've had their day, but I am also not a huge fan of overtly bright and tacky colours. These are a few I really like, but I'd love to hear your opinions. Do you have one or more in your house that you'd like to share?

Alli Coate

Happy Monday! Hope you had a lovely weekend creating, relaxing and just enjoying the beautiful things in life.

I think I'm a little addicted with illustration and other forms of artwork at the moment, so I apologise if you're finding it an overload, but I do find it lovely.

I found Alli Coate Illustration via Deocr8 recently, and just fell in love with her keys print. But then when I went to her website, I really just loved the whole way it was designed. Don't you love when you're pottering around the web and you just find beautiful websites? Even better when they're full of beautiful things to buy!

Elli Popp

Hi, and happy new year!! I really can't believe it's 2010, 2009 seemed to just go by in a blur. I'm happy it's a new year, it seems so many possibilities are now stretched out before me, even though not much has changed! I hope you had a nice break if you did get to have one, I enjoyed a week off work which I spent relaxing and also starting a mini kitchen renovation, which I'll have to share with you soon.

I thought though I'd share about Elli Popp, which is all about gorgeous wallpapers, cushions and lovely ceramic tea sets. I just love their website, such beautiful photos. Go and have a look!
