2010 Calendars & Diaries

OK, is it freaking anyone else out that 2010 diaries and calendars are out in stores, not to mention Christmas decorations?

Well, I plan to get organised early - I'm thinking gorgeous calendars for friends for Christmas this year because I love the one I bought last year so much. Anyway, to help you if you want to get in early, here's my favourites so far.

Just Too Beautiful

I'm sure I'm way behind on this, but have you seen the beautiful photography of Kristybee?  I found her today while browsing through Flickr and now I think I want to buy every print. Just so pretty, gorgeous and feminine.

Don't you think the Chanel picture would be perfect in a bathroom or dressing room? Makes me so glad spring is pretty much here in Sydney, all the flowers will be out.

She has an Etsy shop as well if you're wanting to purchase some prints!

Typewriter Love

Is anyone else loving the plethora of typewriter inspired wares there are at the moment? On everything from T-Shirts, to jewellery to magnets - plus of course the gorgeous vintage pastel coloured typewriters that are coming out of their hiding spots.

Does it make you just want to sit and type out you amazing life story, or a letter to that boy you like or, like me, even just the shopping list? Gosh, I even love the fact when typing on my iPhone it sounds like a typewriter!

I have to show this first - my favourite so far. If only I had the money for it, so someone - please buy it and give it a good home!

Amy Butler Rugs

Is there anything this woman doesn't do?? Amy now has beautiful rugs available, and I think they are just beautiful. I hate to think what they will cost if they make it to Australia, but I can hope and dream.

Feed Your Soul

I must really have been living under a rock lately. How have I not know about Feed Your Soul, the free art project? Free art!

Feed Your Soul is a free art project. Each month artists are invited to participate and to contribute a print which is totally free and available for download. How cool is that? Some of my favourite artists have even contributed art which is just very cool.

Bathroom Inspiration

I think the next serious thing I'd like to do to my house is jazz up the bathroom. All I've done since I moved in is paint it and change the handles on the vanity. Wow.

I think I'm going to give tile paint a whirl, but I'm really stuck on what colours to go. I think I will definitely paint the tiles white, but I'm still unsure of whether to go a strong colour on the walls, keep it all very neutral, add wall paper etc etc

After sifting through all my emails I found an email letting me know about Carey Haynes Art. I clicked on the link, and now just love this! So girly and pretty which of course sucks me in so quickly.

Carey creates beautiful mixed media work, and she says "my paintings are a bridge between creative materials and the joys, blessings and faith in this world. There is always a message and meaning behind my work, many times the message is obvious, written on the painting itself. The source of the meaning and message is my reaction to the world we live in and focuses on the joy, peace, grace, love and the challenges we encounter along the way. Lycksele Chair

So, I was checking out the Ikea website looking for little sofa beds and came across the Lycksele series.

I'd really love a comfy chair in my studio, but if it could turn into a single bed then all the better - space is a serious issue so a double bed is out of the question.

Does anyone currently have one, single or double? Are they comfy or just a waste of space? I'm not overly fussed on any of the covers, but I figure it wouldn't be too hard to draft a pattern and make a pretty one.

Donna Hay General Store

After seeing the beautiful images Jillian Leiboff had taken of Donna Hay's General Store, I finally got to Woollhara to have little look for myself. My friend Brett and I decided to make a day of it, so we started with brunch at Bills, I've not been to his Woollhara restaurant, so now I don't know which I like better of the three!

We then wandered down the street to Donna's store. I've never been to Woollhara and now I'm desperately wishing I could live there, it's like a gorgeous little village. Just so lovely.

We were also fortunate enough to actually meet Donna who was in the store that day. She is absolutely delightful, and we chatted to her for about half an hour. Was the highlight of my day! I think I learned so much in visiting her store about building a brand. You can look at a font or some colours (blue + brown) and immediately think Donna Hay. I'm definitely going to use that to look at my branding.

We then finished up a perfect Sunday with cupcakes and champagne at Sparkle Cupcakery, oh yum!

Floor Lamps

I'm looking for a floor lamp for this little corner in my loungeroom. It gets quite dark there, and I love to curl up on the lounge and read. I don't want to spend much, so these are some of my favourite cheaper lights, except for the 'massive way out of my budget splurge from Anthropologie!'
