By now you have probably figured out I am not only obsessed with Etsy, but also birds. I love the little bird things that are out at the moment, and this is no exception. Just look at these gorgeous bird measuring spoons!! They are adorable. Now, I know I did just buy the Nigella Lawson measuring spoons, but these are so much prettier.... and so much more expensive! I think I actually need them. I don't need to buy food, petrol or anything else, do I?

I should have added this earlier, but I'd forgotten to take a photo. I stayed up so late last night baking mini cupcakes for the baby shower. They were so delicious, I wish I'd made more!
I'm slowly learning how to use the piping bag to the best of its potential, I love the work of Le Cupcake, Kylie makes the most beautiful cupcakes. I must find an excuse to hire her! But she has certainly inspired me to try and get the beautiful swirl going right.

Oh my goodness, I am almost giddy with excitement!I have my first two items for sale on Etsy! I don't know how I'll go, but given it's only $0.20 to list something, I think it's worth a shot.
The first item I have is the baby bib I made, I love it so I hope someone else does as well.
And then I'm also selling one of my knitting bags. I really like the fabric in this, I'm tempted to keep it for myself, but I've already kept another for myself! Really no point in having lots of them.

I decided to do away with the Little Bird Blue Designs blog. I wanted something that wasn't just related to that business, but rather a collection of many different things. Cards and invitations that I've made of course, as well as my adventures with my beloved Janome.

I wanted to have two 30th birthday parties (and why shouldn't I!) so I'm having the smaller girly one, and then a bigger but more casual pub do. These invitations turned out way more expensive than I wanted, due mainly to the way the pattern is on the paper. It goes landscape, where I really needed it to be portrait. I should have just changed my design slightly, but no, silly me I went with it. I love Cristina Re paper designs so much, I've never used this particular pattern so I was a little bit excited!
Anyway, here they are. I even got the Janome out to sew them up, just for a bit of fun. If you can't see in the photo, the invitation has a little insert that slides into the pocket, so I can hide all the boring detail bits.

One of my best friends is due for her third baby in the next little while, so I'm hosting a very small baby shower for her.
I wanted to do something different for her invitations, so thought I would use little wooden letters. Silly me hand painted all of them! What a twit, I really should have just bought the tin of spray paint. So, never again for these I'm afraid! I'm not 100% happy with them, but I guess they'll do.
I didn't take a decent photo before I posted them, so I'll have to rescue one back from a guest. Usually, I always keep a spare, but I had underestimated the guests list by one person, and I couldn't be bothered painting any more letters.

My new fabric is on it's way! A downside to living in Australia is so many things aren't available here as readily - or are available, but at hugely inflated prices. So thanks to Etsy I was able to buy this pack of 12 fat quarters. Hopefully they will arrive this week - I'm going to turn them into more knitting bags. I'm incredibly excited.
I'm already planning to buy another set, and make my very first quilt! Stay tuned for that adventure. :-) Fortunately my mum is an excellent quilter and her enthusiasm is finally starting to rub off on me - I think she's very excited now!

My 30th is coming up and so a few close friends and I will be heading out for high tea at The Victoria Room. I figured I'd use some of the gorgeous things I had bought for my wedding invitations that I now won't be using. The suede paper is my absolute favorite, I am thrilled with these. Very easy to make but they look so pretty.
