I am little obsessed with Instagram at the moment, especially since I'm doing the Photo A Day challenge. Friends sometimes ask what apps I use for all my photos so I thought I'd share my favourites. This isn't a sponsored post, just my favourite and most used apps.
I take the majority of my photos just with the camera on the iPhone. I never use the camera in the Instagram App, and will only edit my photos in Instagram if I'm in a hurry. I do love the Brannan filter though. I want my photos to start in a high resolution for printing later on.
Mt first normal step is to open the photo on Afterlight. This app is awesome. I crop and add a filter generally through this app. You can actually do pretty much everything in it. Change the brightness, edit the contrast, sharpness, shadows etc.
Once I've done that I often want to add a filmy grain to it. Especially for my Photo A Day projct, I try and have some consistency with the grain and the frame. For my grain I use Blender. I've downloaded lots of overlays such as Mextures by Merek Davis, NDPATTERNS by Simon Fletcher and brenoverlays by Bren at Shalecubs. I am a little in love with overlays. Blender basically merges two photos into one, so you can do awesome edits with other photos. I'm a fan.
Last step is moving into Camera+ to add the border. I decided to stick with a thin black border for all my photos but they've got some other really nice frames. You can also add some more great filters through this app.
I shared earlier that this year I had committed to do Fat Mum Slim's wonderful Photo A Day Challenge. I'm pretty happy to say that three months down and I'm still on board. It's so easy, all you do is get the list and take a photo every day that relates to the prompt given. I love the challenge to my creativity every day. Here's what I shared on Instagram for March.
Well...happy new year! In March! I have recently become more inspired to get back to enjoying and living out my creativity, and along with that comes blogging, so hopefully I can find some interesting things to share with you all.
I'm sure many of you will have seen around blogland and Instagram, the brilliant brain child of Chantelle at Fat Mum Slim, her Photo A Day Challenge. I watched this unfold all last year over on Instagram and her blog, and didn't get involved, so decided as of January 1 this year, I was in.
I tried a photo a day challenge last year but really lost interest around February. I think the difference with this is the prompts that Chantelle gives at the beginning of each month, as well as the awesome community that's been built around it. So far I've not missed a day, and I'm really hoping to make a photo book at the end of year to sum up in pictures my 2013.
Here's a sample of what I've done this far, I'd love you to follow along if you'd like. You can find me on Instagram under kyliewakeley
Ooh, it's been a little while since I've been around, it's nice to be back. I've been trying to wrap up photos and prints for my art wall I'm planning, and in my searching I came accross Gabrielle Kai Photography. Yum. These images are just all so lovely, pretty and calming. I'd love to buy most of them, but I need to narrow it down. I need one more photo.
Today is Australia Day, and days like this make me so happy to be Australian. We really are the 'lucky country' in so many ways. Lots of space, amazing weather, stunning beaches and the coolest people on earth, so happy Australia Day to my Aussie friends.
Anyway, in honour of this day that we get off work to basically do nothing but have a BBQ with friends and hang at the beach being 'straylian I thought I would do a round up of some of my favourite little Aussie Etsy shops. Ready? Here we go.
Percy Handmade is based in our nations capital, Canberra! With lots of vintage style brooches, clutches to die for and more, it's just all too lovely.
Wilkintie is from lovely Melbourne and has a cute little range of letterpress prints. I have a big crush on anything letterpress right now!
The Love Shop. Oh, I just love the name! Let alone the gorgeous prints.
Lucky last is Lovely Sweet William, oh lovely sweet prints!! Another shop from Melbourne, and I do hate to admit it being from Sydney, but they do have a lot of good stuff down there! Etsy | Blog | Flickr
I'm at the point where I'm looking for art and photography for an art wall I'm planning for my lounge room. How much fun is it to just search for beautiful prints?
So, I thought rather than be selfish and keep all my finds to myself, I had to share some photography that is on my short list at the moment with all of you.
One of my favourites from Irene Suchocki
These two from Skippy Designs
From Yvette Inufio
Flutterby by Kristybee
Paris by Serpentine
I really seem to have gone for a romantic dreamy look haven't it? It's just all so delicious!! HAs anyone got any other photographers you think I would like?
I'm sure I'm way behind on this, but have you seen the beautiful photography of Kristybee? I found her today while browsing through Flickr and now I think I want to buy every print. Just so pretty, gorgeous and feminine.
Don't you think the Chanel picture would be perfect in a bathroom or dressing room? Makes me so glad spring is pretty much here in Sydney, all the flowers will be out.
She has an Etsy shop as well if you're wanting to purchase some prints!
I finally updated my blogroll (sorry to those who emailed quite some time ago) and one of the new blogs is the Rachel B Blog. Rachel also has a lovely little Etsy shop with some beautiful photographs. We can do with some lovely things, can't we?

If you have a blog and would like to add it to my blogroll, let me know!
I love that you love this blog, but please don't take any of my original photos without my permission. I'm happy for you to use them though if you're linking back to All Things Lovely, which I'd love you to feel free to do to your hearts desire! Thanks so much for understanding.
